A Kindness Imperative and The CryptoFairies

Updated: Feb 25, 2023

These Women in Tech are actually Metaverse Influencers. Fairy dust for one and all.

A disruptive innovation predicated on changing Lives and Trends: One mind at a time with kindness and magic.

But first, what is the Metaverse?

It isn’t really as easy as a one word answer. When I first heard of it I was rather skeptical, to be completely honest. I did some digging, as I tend to do, and as an artist, I became more and more interested in the way that this new web ecosystem envisions the distribution of wealth and a more positive approach towards interacting with others. The general idea is that the metaverse is a virtual space connecting our digital and real-world lives. Some call it the next evolution of the Internet that will make online experiences interactive and immersive. The difficulty in defining it lies in the fact that it encompasses much more than just a single product, service, or project. Instead, it combines different technologies, such as the Internet, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), 3D reconstruction, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

For starters, Web3 and the metaverse are built around blockchain technology. Blockchain was originally invented for cryptocurrency. Unless you have been living in a cave, you have heard of bitcoins.

So What are the Cryptofairies?

Enter the Cryptofairies …. I spoke to mother/daughter team in Australia who believe that Web3 can be an avenue for good and social change. Tinkerbell, the daughter, is an artist who creates NFT artwork and the pair spend a lot of time trying to promote positive mental health for children. They in fact partner up with quite a few other organisations such as the Cardano Foundation, CoinSpot Australia, and Saltera. Their focus is on training to promote mental health.

They both feel that Web3 is a way to get the younger generation started down a more positive path in life. There is nothing wrong with that idea, there are far too many adults walking around looking a bit vacant. A lot of Adults are resistant to change, but kids thrive on change. The CryptoFairies aim to create a hope based future in the web3 space. With key focuses on equality and anti-bullying, Molly shares "...we communicate and create content with a growing blockchain community, and through social impact we aim to switch fear-based algorithms and hate of the past for future generations and user of the blockchain."

This is how we found CryptoFairies on our LinkedIn feed

Definitely need to show the people of Linkedin how much Kindness

Cardano has.

Much love

The fairies

Tinkerbell elaborates: "...News and Social Media has a prevalence of hate and fear. It makes you feel bad about yourself it affects us all negatively.. Why couldn’t there be more spaces that affect us positively, where we go out and give compliments, where people would share laughter and just general advice and life experiences that could help people feel better. Why couldn’t that go viral? Why should hate go viral? "

Crypto Fairies started as one way to switch the algorithm from fear to hope.

Blockchain technology is far more than crypto. It will increase online security (as your data won’t be stored by a tech giant who later sends you ads, It will give much greater clarity on products that you purchase, where and how they were made and it will make your identity and personal information much safer (a very simple explanation is that blockchain is a digital record that is split into pieces, called “blocks,” which are stored in multiple places.)

To be fair, this technology would not exist without crypto, but the practical applications go much further. Plus, with crypto incorporated, it will make many transactions much easier.

Co-founders Fairy Godmother and Tinkerbell will be speaking at NFT.NYC in April.

NFT.NYC is The Leading Non-Fungible Token Event - it will be in New York City (Hudson Yards and Times Square) for #NFTNYC2023 April 12-14.

A number of us will be there this year; it's quite a giddy energy these events have. Maybe changing algorithms is always a welcome change, we don't all realize it at the same moment. Meeting the Fairies was an interesting catalyst for me.
